Gold Rush Challenge 2010 Downhill Skateboard / Longboard Race
Britannia Beach hosted the 2nd annual Gold Rush Challenge, a downhill skateboard/longboard race with 1000m in vertical drop over a 3km course, 3 technical hairpin turns, and racers pushing speeds of 100km/h. With a $2000 cash podium, nearly 200 racers took on the thrill of the Gold Rush Challenge. The race was presented by unkle.ca and coastlongboarding.com and more information can be found at both of these sites. Attack of Danger Bay was started 9 years ago and now there are 12 races in BC with the Gold Rush Challenge being the newest one that's already building a reputation as one of the most intense and extreme longboard skateboard races in the world.
